No one in their right mind would select an oval-port head to make that kind of power, let alone one with a diminutive 265cc intake port, right? Well, big-block fans, times have changed and so has that well-defined line between the pedestrian oval-port and rectangular-port performance heads.
Bring your chairs, will be a bit of a challenge to fit in my Convertible with my baby trunk, but I have a 10X10 pop up tent for shade!

I am going to request space for 25, just in case more show than accounted for or as others arrive if they would like to join the group.
Just a reminder they can only guarantee the space until 11:00 AM, I plan to arrive by 8:30 to get our spot, should just be able to ask for the Camaro group at check in and be directed but just in case, look for the Red SS Convertible, bra on the front and the tent top is Blue!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and having a great show!

Let me know if anyone needs directions or has any questions:

Video games are already an easy target for politicians, what with their amazing ability to turn both brains and muscles to jelly while also promoting violence and other sociopathic behaviors. So we can only wonder at the political grandstanding that might accompany this development: The Nintendo DS can now be used to control a Toyota navigation system.

Yes, that's right, if you can pull yourself away from drawing evil kittens on your DS - and you live in Japan - you can pair it via Bluetooth, and use it to input destinations and display a speedometer on the DS, according to Kotaku. The Kuruma de DS game card also gives your handheld gaming device the ability to broadcast its audio through the car's stereo system.

The software is designed to be used by passengers - of course - but we're sure it's only a matter of time before Japan experiences its first I-was-just-using-my-DS-to-program-my-nav crash. Kotaku says the game card is being sold by Toyota dealers for about $92.Toyota turning Nintendo DS into navigation system originally appeared on Autoblog on Thu, 17 May 2012 18:30:00 EST.
You heard that right, the car's name is "SS". No longer is the top performance package going to be given the iconic SS name for it is now a car.

DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Co, the largest U.S. automaker, will begin selling its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan under the Chevrolet brand in the United States in 17 years, it said Thursday.

The Chevrolet SS will be equipped with a V8 engine and built as a 2014 model. It will arrive in showrooms in late 2013.

The production car will also double as GM's NASCAR race car and will debut in the 2013 Daytona 500 next year. The NASCAR version and the one to be sold in showrooms look so much alike that GM plans to camouflage the NASCAR model while testing, spokesman Monte Doran said.

The new sedan represents the first time GM has used the "SS" as its own nameplate.

The SS moniker typically denoted a performance version of a particular vehicle. In 2010, GM built an super sport version of the fifth-generation Camaro.

The SS designation, which stands for super sport, was first created in 1957 on a Corvette that was built to race in the prestigious Le Mans 24-hour race in France.

""We really liked that connection to the history of Corvette racing," Doran said. "We thought it was a nice connection to the past and the situation we're currently in."

Hopkins Rod & Custom in Commerce, Georgia, have been resurrecting a dilapidated '67 A-body, dubbed the AMD Chevelle. It's an original 1967 SS396, so there is a reason we were saving it from the scrap heap. The previous five stories were focused on replacing all the metal on the car, and we do mean all. The only things left from the original car are a few sections of the firewall and the inner roof structure. All the other sheetmetal has been skillfully replaced with brand-new Auto Metal Direct (AMD) panels by Craig and Aaron Hopkins, and the rest of the crew, Caesar Brecino, and Chris Dyer.
